Wedding shows

 SHOWS

The best wedding shows on TV include several reality programs that feature nervous brides-to-be trying to plan for the biggest day of their lives. Whether it's TLC's Say Yes to the Dress, which follows brides as they try to select that perfect wedding gown, or WE's Platinum Weddings, which highlights some of the most lavish and elaborate wedding ceremonies in the world, these shows make for great television viewing (particularly for brides). This list includes some of the greatest wedding shows around, so be sure to vote for your favourites (and vote down those you hate). This list is also by no means complete, so add any wedding shows that you love and don't see listed here:

  1. Say yes to the dress
  2. Four weddings
  3. My fair wedding
  4. A wedding story
  5. Don't tell the bride
  6. My big fat American gysp etc.
These are shows you could use to see how others plan their wedding and have ideas about your wedding. I  hope and believe this is going to help you a lot.

WEDDING PROGRAMME

What to Include in a Wedding Program?

What is a wedding program? A wedding program is a booklet or single sheet of paper that shares the details of your ceremony to guests. It can include the wedding party, parents, the location, and more:

1. Wedding Date
You’ll want to include your wedding date somewhere in the program. In this example (above), it is placed at the very top next to the location, which is #2.
2. Location
Include the name of your ceremony space and/or the location.
3. Couple’s Names
Add a personal touch with your names somewhere on the ceremony, typically written in large type with an ampersand in-between the names.
4. Parts of the Ceremony
Although not required, if you include parts of the ceremony in a wedding program your guests can follow along easily. This is especially helpful for religious ceremonies, if some guests aren’t familiar with the service. Some things you can include are names of readers, musician(s), song titles, prayers or verses, and the officiant’s name.
5. Names of Wedding Party + Parents
The names of your wedding party along with names of parents adds a personal touch. It also tells guests ‘who’s who’ in your wedding party.
6. Message
An optional message, such as “Thank you for celebrating with us”, can be included.
7. Map to Reception
Include a small map on the back of your program with directions from ceremony to reception. Guests will appreciate it!

MARRIAGE

 Why Get Married?

Marriage is more relevant today than ever before in history. Marriage used to be a given. Now it is a choice. All the old arguments for marriage have fallen away, and we are left with only one true reason to get married. We can finally get married for the right reason.
What were once good reasons to get married are largely irrelevant today. Here are four classic reasons to get married:
So we can live together. As you pointed out in your question, this reason no longer applies to the many couples who live happily together without getting married.
So we can have children. Again, it is possible to have children and be wonderful parents without getting married.
To make a solid commitment. That’s a charming one. We are getting married to make it harder to walk away from each other. How romantic.
To make our relationship official. You could achieve that by placing an announcement in the newspaper saying, “We are now official.” You don’t need a caterer to serve gazpacho soup in a ballroom just to make it official.
So what are we left with? If not to live together, to start a family, to make a commitment or to make it official.
